Calm before the Storm!
What looked like a beautiful day for a test sail on a nice Southerly breeze in the beautiful PNW winter sunlight quickly switched into a rippin’ Northerly squall. The winds rounded from a nice 15 to 18 knot southerly into a 25 to 29 knot Northerly in about 45 seconds. You can see the squall line coming down in the distance, up by Kingston. Combine that with a quick drop in temperature and some very large raindrops we rolled up the genoa and sailed along beautifully with the main only glad we were on a Doug Peterson designed well built Bavaria Match 35! She sailed along to weather without rounding up on the main alone before we reached off into the marina to put the boat away in the rain.
